Next level cataract surgery | New era of guided lens implantation in cataract surgery

Summary
AkknaTek’s device-based solution is introducing a unique imaging technology to overcome the current hurdles of nowadays cataract surgery. It is designed to offer full control over the lens position at any point of the treatment; for the first time guaranteeing best possible results for every lens implanted. The solution consists of a set of 3 modules which also can be used independently. Pre-operatively, the diagnostic system for patient screening allows detection of capsular bag dislocation, calculates the optimum lens design and eliminates IOLs not suitable for the respective patient to reduce the need for potential re-surgery right from the start. During the surgery, the image-guided system enables real-time monitoring of the IOL placement and computer assisted guidance to ensure accurate placement based on the visual axis. After surgery, the post-operative diagnostic system measures the IOL position and, if needed, helps the surgeon re-align the IOL, as it may move after surgery.
