Summary
The main operational parameters that will be monitored and logged are as follows:
• Electrolyser: All safety and process sensors (including H2 in air, H2 pressure at numerous points in the process, incoming current and voltage, stack current and voltage, stack water flow, process temperature, ambient temperature, water levels etc)
• Hydrogen stores and tube trailers (when connected to the system): Pressure
• Hydrogen refuelling station: H2 Consumption based on vehicle registration number, H2 output flow, coolant temperature, compressor operation, tank pressures.
• Stationary Fuel Cell: Operational profile, stack voltage and current, output voltage and current, system and ambient temperature
• School - catalytic boilers: H2 tank pressures (to calculate H2 consumption)
In addition to OHT operated equipment, the performance of the FC vans will be studied. The consumption of each vehicle is logged by the refueller and when combined with odometer data from OIC, their efficiency can be calculated. (ITM)
KPIs will include:
• Operating profit / loss of OHT
• Availability of hydrogen to end-users
• Average hydrogen transferred each ferry journey
• End user demand
• Curtailed energy not captured due to H2 storage full
• Carbon savings compared to fossil based alternatives
