Detailed design

The aim of the detailed design deliverable is for NTNU to document a final design that is considered best possible, according to the specific assumptions and methods described in the design basis deliverable D5.1. It is an output of Task 4.6, using methods developed in Task 4.5 to further optimize the Xrotor turbine, using the design documented in the preliminary design deliverable D5.2 as starting point. A higher-fidelity model will be used, so that some of the assumptions made during the preliminary design will be refined, in order to obtain more accurate performance and cost estimates. The deliverable will be provided as a report that documents the final design and the improvements beyond the preliminary design.
