"5th symposium ""Enslaved peoples, natives and peasants "" to be held in Salvador, Brazil"

SY5 will focus on enslaved people, natives and peasants as protagonists and involve three aspects of analysis: a) working conditions and taxation; b) disputes over natural resources; and c) resistance to cultural assimilation, highlighting the fact that that the lower echelons of society accessed forms of knowledge which were just as valid those of higher echelons.
