Initial Legal and Ethical Framework Report

Task 8.2 The aim of this task is to examine the existing ethical and legal frameworks (EU and national) applicable to the research activities in the HOLiFOOD project, in particular the use of AI and big data analytics for a holistic risk assessment. In the course of this legal and ethical research, a human-rights focused approach will be adopted, to ensure that fundamental rights of individuals are protected. Desk research carried out by UNIVIE will be supported with by input from all partners (via a questionnaire). In this task also cooperation with partners’ DPOs is also envisaged. The activities will be informed by the activities in WP4. Outcomes of this task will be delivered in two iterations (D8.2 at M12 and D8.3 at M48), so that the challenges that arise throughout the project can be addressed.
