Summary
This deliverable refers to task 1.2. The standard framework to describe the European intermodal transport network consolidates existing standards with a focus on the technical interoperability (wagons, lines, intermodal loading units) based on the CACTUS study. Further it includes a standardized typology of existing transshipment technologies (vertical, horizontal) based on the Commission’s study. A procedure for describing European Terminals and main characteristics (based on the Rail Facilities Portal) as well as Key components of an intermodal network (TEN-T/RFC infrastructure parameters and standards with focus on the two selected ReMuNet corridors) will be included within the framework as well. By including a sustainability assessment, the framework also allows for an estimation of emmissions per transport mode and distance.
